Learn, Laugh, Live

This month of Christmas, I am starting a new category on my blog. I want to showcase the books that are on my shelf. Favorite reads that made me laugh, cry, learn, and love everything about life. Reading  is one habit I am not willing to give up.

When I was a kid, my friends called me a bookworm. Friends back then teased me for poring on a paperback, calmly absorbed in whatever book that took my fancy at the moment. As a kid, I never thought I’d be an avid reader until my mom bought me my first Nancy Drew mystery novel when I was in Third Grade. From then on, my love affair with books started.

One that made an impact on my life was a book from popular inspiration speaker Francis J. Kong.

I chanced upon FJK when I attended a music seminar at the Christ Commission Fellowship (CCF) in Alabang, Muntinlupa City and he was the speaker. I learned so much about his talk on ministry and life dreams that I was so inspired I decided to buy a copy of the book he was selling at the back of the conference room. At that time, I remember I had a limited budget and the cost of the book was a little pricey. But then who could stop you if you are really bent on achieving something?

I’m glad I had no qualms over buying FJK’s “When You Think You Can’t Do It, Do It” subtitled “Learn, Laugh, Live.” I really consider it a treasure-read. Learn about life’s mysteries, take a moment to laugh at life’s absurdities,  and live life in the grace and the goodness of God.

God even gave me a bonus: I got to chat with the author and have my book autographed. 😀

Psalms 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” —NIV
