When it comes to skin care products, I’m quite picky. I’m not the type to gaga over beauty products flashed and hyped up on TV. As a rule, I first research a product, try it for about a month to six months before giving it a real go.
When one of my friends traveled to Seoul last month, I asked her to buy me Laneige’s Water Sleeping Pack EX. A lot of fashion blogs have been raving positive feedback on this little blue jar that has been a favorite among Korean and Asian beauty junkies alike. So I decided to try it myself.
This overnight mask gel costs about KRW25,000 (about P1,016). I remembered that when I asked the woman at the Laneige counter in Robinsons Place in Malate, Manila and at SM Mall of Asia about a year ago, the price was about P1,300 to P1,500. If you have a friend going to South Korea, I suggest you ask them to buy this for you. Better yet, buy this yourself when you visit Seoul to get a better deal.
So when I got to finally use it, I find myself nodding in the same direction as with the interns and late night sleepers who relish using this product. It’s light gel consistency is easily absorbed by my skin, unlike the moisturizing creams that I used before. I usually break out after two or three days of applying cream-based moisturizers.
But with Laneige’s Water Sleeping Pack, my skin is intensely hydrated until the next morning. I like the effect: luminous, supple and relaxed skin.
A Laneige representative advised that the best thing about this product is that you only get to apply this only once or twice a week, on a clean toned face and neck (yes include your neck!), before going to bed at night. So you bring in value for your money.

I like it’s refreshing scent. It’s not overpowering. It’s an ultimate stress-reliever for the likes of me. Boy, am I glad to try this! 🙂
