Hello, everyone! Happy New Year! I hope I didn’t keep you waiting for too long. I had to put off blogging for more than a month due to Christmas festivities. New Year also had me thinking twice of putting my fingers to write. But here I am again, looking forward to more awesome, fun-filled 2016, anticipating more travel opportunities, blessings, and unmerited favour.
I’m starting my year right now using my own WordPress domain. I’m so happy that I finally got to own my personal blogspace! Now, I can find the time to go about writing about whatever here in strickenwithwanderlust.com. I figured out its about time I do something to level up my blog, but still retaining that personal, diary-type of my ATMs, and OOTDs, and WAYN adventures.
Before anything else, I want to thank the Lord for an abundant 2015. As I look back on the past year, I was blessed indeed, despite the odds. For all the answered prayers, challenges hurdled…I can only bow my head and say a quiet, intimate, heartfelt “Thank You, Lord!” I am now more than ready to face 2016 even in the face of uncertainty. Life is after all best lived during surprising moments that keep our hopes up alive.
I’m reminded of the psalmist saying “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” (Psalms 90:12). It’s a fitting reminder that no matter how we spend our days full and busy, we ought not to forget life’s fragility and sacredness. When there are times we are tempted to allow little things to affect our peace and steal our joy just because something we want didn’t happen or doesn’t go our way, or something upsetting overcomes us, we have to remind ourselves to keep track and focus on the positivities. Or we’ll miss the beauty of life each day has to offer.
So let’s not allow precious moments of our lives to pass us by and just wait for holidays, birthdays or special occasions to celebrate life with the ones we love. God is the ultimate life-giver; the one who we should celebrate the new year with and every occasion hereon. He is the one who can meet all our needs whether it be spiritual, physical, or emotional.
Let’s learn to value every moment we have been given, to keep a daily proper perspective so we can achieve heart full of wisdom that only comes from heaven above.
Cheers to 2016! 🙂
